Located in Maiden Gully, just a 15-minute drive from the heart of Bendigo, Solterra and Vine, formerly Balgownie Estate, spans 16 hectares of tranquillity. Enter through the gate and travel up the vine-lined driveway, where the cafe/restaurant, along with the accommodation, rest among manicured lawns and protected bushland. Soak up the sunshine on the lawns, sip local wine on the deck, or gather around the fire pit as the vineyards glow at sunset and stretch across the landscape. Wander through the gums and keep an eye out for native wildlife. A countryside escape designed to help you disconnect from the everyday and reconnect with the people who matter most, Solterra and Vine invites you to breathe deeply, slow down, and savour the beauty of the land.
ACCOMMODATION
Solterra & Vine offers accommodation for up to 35 guests, thoughtfully spread across two distinctive stays: the elegant Homestead and luxury Glamping Tents, each designed to immerse guests in comfort, nature, and quiet indulgence.

Set in the heart of the estate, the Homestead features seven suites each with a private ensuite, offering a mix of single, queen, or king-sized beds and peaceful outlooks across the landscape. The Homestead is wonderfully versatile; suites may be booked individually or as an entire exclusive residence. Welcoming solo travellers, couples seeking a refined escape, families gatherings, wedding parties, or corporate groups in search of a relaxed retreat.

Tucked among the gum trees, Solterra & Vine’s glamping tents offer a secluded, nature-immersed stay without sacrificing comfort. Choose from cozy Bell Tents or spacious Safari Tents, each featuring a queen bed and modern conveniences. Glamping is ideal for romantic getaway’s, solo retreats, or simply switching off under the stars.
CAFE & RESTAURANT
Grounded in seasonality and shaped by the land around it, our café and restaurant is a celebration of fresh, local produce and community connection. Working closely with regional growers and makers, our menus are guided by what’s in season, unfussy, generous, and designed to be shared.

By day, guests are welcomed into a sunlit, casual café setting, ideal for good coffee, long lunches, and easy moments spent unwinding with friends. As evening falls, the space transforms into relaxed dining under the trees, where share-style plates, seasonal mains, local wines, and warm hospitality invite you to slow down and stay awhile.
